Things to remember about schedules is that they are not routines, but are broad points of the day. It doesn't tell you the exact activity you are doing or what you are eating that day, but rather is the main idea or outline for the day.
Schedules are consistent, but are open to flexibility if need be. If you have a fire drill or field trip you can then adjust your schedule to work around those activities.
Keep parents in the know! Always keep your schedule posted where parents can look at it to see what their child will be doing that day and if there is a change to the schedule let parents know.
For a schedule to work have routines set within your schedule and let children be aware of it.
