What Causes Risk Factors

There are a many different reasons why a child may be at risk for a developmental delay and today we are going to talk about what might be to the cause of them.

Genetics

In these situations it doesn't matter how well or not you care for a child that may cause a disability or delay. It is the make up of their genetics that causes it. It may be carried on from the parents or it could how both parents strings of genetics that didn't mix correctly that may pose a risk to that child's development.

Environment

This isn't caused by the genetic make up of the child, but rather the circumstances they are put through. Alcohol abuse during and or after their birth, child abuse and neglect, lack of love, poverty, and etc. In short the outside effects on a child can pose a risk to their development.
